This book illustrates a deep morning (elegy) for my mother Carrie. However, attention focuses on stage theory and newer theories relative to grief loss. This drama would be remiss if it did not include a literature review in relation to grief loss. Hence, an extensive review is included. We are taught all our lives to avoid pain. What would happen if we ceased to grasp to things and people who will eventually leave us? This text provides insight into practicing letting go of what we can not control and moving toward acceptance. Change is one thing we can count on. Grief loss is something that if held onto, is more difficult to attend to. This book looks at national grief loss and mitigating steps we can all take in preparation our eventual death. However, there are multiple kinds of loss. Herein is included views of suicide, accidental death, and depictions of ways to matriculate the grief loss narrative. The aftermath of grief loss is illuminated and various tools that can be used to assist with moving through the grief loss experience. Recognizing that grief loss creates space for new learning, experiences, and opportunities is a newer revelation about grief loss. However, the space created is as a result of grief loss and is only experienced post the experience. Grief loss is not something to be rushed through, it is to be attended to (experienced, endured, and learned from). Grief loss is unique and has no time restraints, no emotional limitations, but to experience the joy and beauty that comes through lived experiences, grief loss must be endured. All emotion is ok. Action linked to emotion may have negative connotations. Using talents, gifts, and abilities during periods of grieving are effective modes of coping with grief loss. Collective grief is all around us. Society is challenged by not always knowing how to articulate true sentiment in the face of grief loss. When we are uncomfortable our tendency is to avoid or deflect subject matter. It is only through sitting with difficult feelings relative to grief loss that we will be healed.
