From H.P. Lovecraft, the Master of Horror. There is an old abandoned house on Benefit Street. For over one hundred years, the people who moved in there got sick and died. Strange weeds grow in the yard, and there is something in the cellar, something weird and disgusting. The house on Benefit Street is apparently haunted. Two men decide to spend the night there to investigate the supernatural forces. "The Shunned House" was written in 1924, but it was not published until 1937, when it appeared in an issue of Weird Tales. This edition contains a selection of Weird Tales covers for issues featuring stories by H.P. Lovecraft.
