Waiting for Tom Hanks

Aspiring screenwriter Annie Cassidy has spent her life rewatching Nora Ephron movies and waiting for her own sweet, sensitive Tom Hanks to appear, while working unglamorous writing jobs in Columbus, Ohio. When a movie starts filming in her neighborhood and she lands a job on set, it feels like fate, until she meets the film's leading man, Drew Danforth, a cocky prankster who is nothing like her ideal. Their first meeting is a disaster, but before long Annie finds herself living out classic rom-com moments with the one man who is supposed to be leaving town in a matter of days. Light, playful and packed with movie references, this is a feel-good romantic comedy about letting real life be better than the script.
